How to Register for Courses
1. Check the website for availability.
2. Complete a REGISTRATION FORM
3. Fax us (905) 827-0049 your completed Registration Form
4. If sending a money order or cheque: let us know by Fax, Email, or Voice Mail that you will be mailing in a registration. We will hold you a spot for one week to allow your completed form and payment to arrive by mail.
Recognized and respected. A dedicated full-time staff of professional rescue trainers with Professional instruction by Rescue Technicians, Firefighters, and Fire Officers with Ontario Fire College certified Trainer-Facilitators Associate members of the Municipal Fire Service Instructors Association and the NFPA. Our courses meet and exceed fire service standards including NFPA 1006, 1670, 471, 472, 473, Ontario Firefighter Standars and Ministry of Labour OHSA Regulations.
We provide practical fire service Technical Rescue training for municipal firefighters, industrial emergency response team members, and aspiring firefighters. TEAM-1 Academy Emergency staff members are professional rescue trainers with actual rescue experience. We will provide you with realistic hands-on rescue training in real life conditions.
National Fire Protection Association Standard 1670 identifies and establishes levels of functional capability for conducting operations at technical search and rescue incidents.
TEAM-1 programs fire service oriented and are designed to meet the requirements set forth by NFPA 1670, so that our students and their respective fire departments will be able to identify their level of training with an internationally recognized fire service standard of operational capability.
NFPA 1670 identifies three levels of operational capability: Awareness, Operations, and Technician. Course content is designed to meet the criteria of each level.
NFPA 1006 establishes the minimum job performance requirements for fire service and other emergency response personnel who perform technical rescue operations at the technician level. Technician course content is designed to meet the criteria of NFPA 1670 as well as NFPA 1006.
Upon successful completion of your training program, TEAM-1 certifies that you have been trained in conformance with the applicable level of NFPA’s technical rescue standards.
